Betty Archer is the author of short stories appearing in national publications including Ellery Queen Magazine. She lives in southeastern Washington State. Her early years were spent in Walla Walla, the latter in Richland. She has used both sites in her writing.

The author and her husband reared one daughter and four sons on a twelve-acre nut orchard adjacent to the Yakima River. When she is not writing or reading she enjoys working in her garden.

Tokens of Deceit is her first novel with AVALON.
