AN AVALON WESTERN
The Changing Trail
by Tracy Dunham

The Mythmaker Western Romance Series

Heading east, Mythmaker swerves toward Larned, Kansas, to find her estranged brother. She, her son Whistle, and the Monroes, find themselves endangered by a wounded outlaw being chased by vigilantes. Left behind to tend the farm, Mythmaker's husband, Johnny, also heads for Larned to see if his friendship with Noble can be revived. A third person is adrift in Kansas - Hunter Peck, the half-Indian, half-black who saved Mythmaker's adopted son, Peter Donaldson. Found half frozen and severely frostbitten in a horse carcass by some Kansa, he is carried to Larned by the tribe. Noble's wife, Rebecca, undertakes Peck's nursing care. More than that, she urges Noble to heal his rift with his sister. Brought together in Larned, all of them reforge bonds they'd thought irrevocably broken.

Although the Tracy Dunham MYTHMAKER SERIES books are traditionally classified under our Western category, we did want to mention this series in our Romance category as well since these books compromise a very moving and touching love story and saga of a woman named Elizabeth McFarland sho survives capture by the Kowa tribe and becomes a healer known to her clan as Mythmaker, and the half-Comanche man known as Johnny Two Hats who becomes her husband.

A graduate of Hollins College and the T. C. Williams School of Law, Tracy Dunham has been writing since the third grade. She lives in Richmond, Virginia, with her husband and two daughters, who are avid readers and writers themselves. She enjoys researching American history, and has lived west of the Mississippi before becoming an Easterner.

The Changing Trail is the fifth book in the series.
