Or so he thinks, until the Zed Rodel gang decides to hold up the stage at Coopers stage stop. Away on an errand, Cooper is confronted with carnage when he returns. The stage driver and the passenger are sprawled on the ground. Coopers wife, child and dog are dead in the cabin. Barely alive, the stage driver lives long enough to give Cooper the details of the massacre. Without hesitation, Cooper straps on his gun and rides out, filled with a terrible vengeance.
Joe Burkett was a native East Texan of Jasper, Texas. Being born with Muscular Atrophy made life, and everything he did, a challenge. Despite his physical handicap, he graduated from high school and from the Writers Digest School with Gods help.
He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. His love of books, nature, and history helped him with his five novels which have been published on audiotape. Joe died on December 22, 1998 at the age of 23. He wanted people to enjoy his stories. Like his mentor, Louis LAmour, he would like to be remembered as a good storyteller.
Coopers Revenge is Joes second book for AVALON.
