Home for nature photographer Kyle Dermott is a 30-foot sailboat and the freedom to follow the gray whales south to Mexico each winter. For architect Caitlin Hughes, home is a house of her own design built on land that has been in her family for generations.
With Kyle's help, Caitlin can build the house of her dreams but she knows the siren call of the whales will draw him away one day.
When a series of mysterious accidents occur on her building site she begins to wonder if someone is trying to drive her off the Hughes homestead. Even through arson, strange occurrences, emeralds and the Bullfrog's Ball, Caitlin and Kyle find themselves drawn to each other. But is their love strong enough to keep them together and will it be enough to make a permanent home?
Victoria Sheringham lives on the west coast of Vancouver Island, in a small house designed by her husband which they built together.
She is an enthusiastic gardener, despite the steady setbacks from hungry deer and slugs. The recent sight of a young cougar strolling through her freshly planted pansies has prompted her to sing while she gardens, a sound certain to frighten off anything lurking in the woods.
Green Fire is Victoria's first romance novel for Avalon.
