AN AVALON ROMANCE
The Love Potion
by Ludima Gus Burton ISBN 978-0-8034-9456-4

Starr Evans accidentally pours the whole bottle of a love potion on Eric Hammond's head, yet he continually insists he has not fallen in love with her.

Wishing for light relief from his stressful cancer research project, he persuades Starr to test the remaining five bottles of the potion by throwing only a pinch from each bottle on an unlikely combination of couples.

At first, it appears the potion is not working. Then, love enters the lives of all the participants. Eric is no exception as he confesses his love for Starr. All concerned insist that love is magical enough on its own.

Ludima Gus Burton retired from teaching in 1978. She and her husband had three glorious retirement years before he died of a heart attack in 1981. She now lives with her daughter, Daphne, son-in-law, Peter, and a grandson, Matthew. Her other daughter, Jennifer, lives six miles away.

At age 71, in 1991, it took only six weeks to write the novel that would start her new career. It took, however, nearly a decade of joining RWA, going to conferences, workshops and writing five more novels before AVALON published Only For a Year in June 2000. She thought it was to be her only success at age 80. When Avalon purchased two more books (The Tycoon and the Schoolteacher, Oct. 2000) and now, this book, she knew dreams come true in plural and at any age.

The Love Potion is her third romance novel for Avalon.
