Can an ultraconservative boss learn to enjoy life from her sexy, fun-loving employee?
Sensible Leah Matthews has always done what was expected of her. And while she has what she always wanted--professional success--she has the sinking feeling that life has passed her by. So while attending a marketing seminar in Hawaii, she decides to let loose a little. Jackson Brandt, a fellow hotel guest and gold medal runner, is more than willing to help her break out of her shell. He showers her with the kind of attention she rarely receives from men.
He seems like the perfect catch until she discovers that the company she works for has hired him and that she is his new boss. Her personal policy against inter-office romance and feeling of betrayal make for a tense working relationship. But memories of her romantic Hawaiian holiday won't allow her to keep him at a distance forever. Their sizzling chemistry and mutual respect make it hard for these star-crossed lovers to keep things at the company strictly business.
Kathy Attalla's passion for romance novels began in her late teens and left her with an itch to discover the world. After living in places as culturally diverse as Athens, Greece and Cairo, Egypt (where she met and married her own romantic hero), she returned to America and settled in the town of Sterling Forest, NY.
From a very young age, she had an aptitude for telling stories. Of course, her mother called her a pathological liar, but she prefers to think back on those days as an apprenticeship for her future craft. After the birth of her daughter, her husband suggested she take up writing as a hobby to fill her days. The hobby became a love, and the love an obsession.
She learned how to write from the best--the authors who penned the books she spent countless hours reading. Although her writing allows her mind to soar in the clouds, she has an active teenager who keeps her feet planted on the ground.
Just Business is Kathy's second novel for AVALON.
