Rocked by the tragedy of her parents' sudden death in a car crash, Meg Ryan decides to move home to Bennington, Vermont until the family house is sold. Leaving behind her job as an assistant in a Soho art gallery, she decides to concentrate on her own painting. Soon she finds a friend and mentor in Bennington College drama professor Brian Davidson. Jeanne Robinson recently moved from Florida to Maine. She and her husband are restoring an old bank that will serve as living quarters as well as a shop selling stained glass and handmade soaps. No decision has yet been made on the final use of the antique vault with its very ornate hand-tooled door.

When not writing romances, Jeanne teaches college chemistry. Two orange tabby cats complete the family.
