Annie Kubek is heartily sick of her mother insisting that she and Michael Reeves were born for each other. The ludicrous becomes the preposterous when Michael visits Annie’s beloved rural community twenty-five years after they shared a crib.

Darlene Gardner successfully switched from covering sports to writing romances. Then she did another switch, this time from romances with serious themes to romantic comedy.

She graduated from Penn State with a degree in journalism and worked for newspapers in Fort Lauderdale, Florida and Charleston, South Carolina as a sports writer, features writer, and copy editor before switching to full-time fiction writing.

She grew up in the Pittsburgh area but now lives in Northern Virginia with her journalist husband and two children.
