Disregarding police procedures, Officer Annie O'Malley runs into a burning building to save the life of an abandoned baby. Joye Ames is the pseudonym for Joyce and James Lavene who met at a peace rally in 1971. They knew each other for about two weeks when they decided that no one else would do and have been married ever since. They have three wonderful children, Christopher, Jennifer and Emily, a fantastic grandson, Eric, a chocolate Lab, assorted cats and fish, and a passion for wandering back roads looking for strange and unusual people and places.
